OUR STORY
Kickstart (formerly Upper Hutt Community Youth Trust) was formed in December 2014 and has grown hugely into what it is today.
Our barista training course, youth centre, young women and mens wellbeing courses, leadership programmes, mentoring and chaplaincy support along with faith development opportunities are well respected and utilised in our community.
There are also a number of other exciting developments in the pipeline that we are working on for young people in Upper Hutt.
To do what we do requires money, and we are being proactive at looking at different ways to raise the funding required to do our much needed mahi.
We have developed two social enterprises - kickstart coffee and a bus and mini-van rental service which help to fund what we do. However they don't cover the full shortfall between what we receive in funding and donations and what we need just to maintain the current level of service.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
We are seeking 50 individuals who believe in Kickstart and what we do to partner with us for a year to become one of our future 50 members.
Becoming one of our future 50 members means committing to contributing $10 or $20 per week (or whatever you can afford) for the next 12 months to enable Kickstart to grow and expand its reach and influence, by giving us a solid, reliable financial base to work from.
As one of our future 50 members you will obtain exclusive monthly email newsletters updating you on our progress, plus a “future 50” members only night full of stories and future plans.
Kickstart is a registered charitable trust (Upper Hutt Community Youth Trust), and so donation receipts are provided at the end of the financial year enabling you to claim 33% of their donations back.
